I was born and raised in Colorado until I was 15, during which I moved to Cordova, Alaska. After an amazing year in Cordova I moved to Eagle River, Alaska where I currently reside. After graduating from Chugiak High School I started pursuing a Biology degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks; however during this time I discovered my passion for Chemistry. I still enjoyed fishing and due to this commercial fished out of Cordova for three summers while in College. After graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology option and a minor in Mathematics, I had the pleasure of working in a remote fishery research camp on the Copper River. It was an amazing experience to live in tents right on an island on the Copper River with a group of three other technicians. Realizing I wanted to continue my education in Chemistry I pursued and graduated with an M.S. in Chemistry during which I was able to publish three papers.
